About This Access Site
The Westport Boat Launch is a DEC-managed facility located on Route 22 in the Village of Westport, providing convenient access to Lake Champlain's North West Bay. The site features a modern twin-lane concrete ramp with aluminum floating docks, designed for easy float-off and float-on launching. This is a well-developed access point suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and all types of boaters.

Amenities and parking are substantial at this location. The launch accommodates approximately 100 vehicles and trailers, with designated wheelchair-accessible parking spaces and accessible boarding docks. Additional facilities include a boat pump-out station for vessels with sanitary systems, accessible restrooms, and informational kiosks. The site is fully accessible to the top of the ramp, making it user-friendly for paddlers of varying abilities.

Westport's location on North West Bay is particularly valuable for wildlife viewing—the site is known as an excellent spot for observing wintering and migrating waterfowl and other species along Lake Champlain. This makes it an appealing destination for both recreational paddling and nature enthusiasts.
