Located 26 miles east of Astoria near Highway 30, Westport County Park offers excellent access to the Lower Columbia River and Westport Slough. The facility features a two-lane concrete boat ramp, transient dock, and multiple boarding floats suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. An ADA-accessible nonmotorized boat dock with a 120 x 5-foot gangway provides easier launch access during low tide conditions, which is important for paddlers navigating the tidal lower Columbia.
The park is well-equipped with amenities including ADA-accessible restrooms, ample parking for both boat trailers and single vehicles, and a park host on-site. The boat ramp extends to the third piling for reliable launching across various water levels. This makes Westport a dependable access point for exploring the lower Columbia's productive fishing and paddling waters, with proximity to the Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for viewing Columbian white-tailed deer and other wildlife. The site's transient dock facilities make it convenient for paddlers planning multi-day trips or wanting to secure their vessels temporarily.
