Whitcomb Creek County Park provides boat access to Green Peter Reservoir, a scenic impoundment on the Middle Santiam River in the Willamette Valley. The park features two boat launch ramps accommodating various watercraft, from kayaks and canoes to larger motorboats and sailboats. Note that the ramp requires at least two feet of water to be usable—the accessible launch elevation is 972 feet—so water levels can affect access during low-water periods.
The park offers a range of amenities including campsites, group camping and picnic areas, bathrooms, and a rocky beach suitable for exploration. Those interested in extended stays can find the nearby Yukwah Campground (reservable) within 10 miles. The location provides excellent access to paddling and fishing opportunities on the reservoir, with beautiful scenery and plenty of trees throughout the area. For current conditions and any seasonal closures, check with Linn County Parks & Recreation before your visit.
