About This Access Site
Whitney Point Reservoir offers multiple access points for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters in the Broome County area. The primary launch is located at **Dorchester Park off Route 26, approximately 1 mile north of the Whitney Point Reservoir Dam**. This site features a hard-surface boat ramp with parking for 40 vehicles and trailers, plus day-use amenities including a beach and picnic areas. Additional access points include a gravel ramp at Triangle (north end of the reservoir on County Route 152 near Upper Lisle Bridge) with parking for 10 vehicles, and shore access for car-top boats off Kieble Road on the reservoir's west side.

This man-made reservoir supports a variety of fish species including pike, tiger muskie, yellow perch, and pickerel, making it popular with anglers and recreational paddlers. The relatively calm waters of the impoundment make it suitable for most skill levels. Plan ahead if using the Triangle or County Route 13 access points, as parking is limited. Dorchester Park is the most developed facility and offers the best amenities for a full day of paddling or boating.
