Willamette Park offers convenient public access to the Willamette River in southeast Portland via a concrete boat ramp at Bernert Landing. Located at the end of Fischer Lane off Crystal Lake Drive, this facility includes a dock system and is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats launching onto the main channel. The park also features ample amenities including parking, picnic areas, playgrounds, and wildlife viewing opportunities—osprey and Canada geese nests are visible on transmission towers along the east bank, and beavers are present in the area.
Boaters should note that seasonal parking permits are available for February through May for those regularly using the ramp. The site provides excellent access to a scenic stretch of the Willamette River and serves as a good starting point for exploring both upstream and downstream paddling routes. For those interested in extended trips, the McKenzie River joins the Willamette just seven miles upstream, offering an interesting side excursion to nearby Armitage County Park.
