William Kain County Park offers two boat launches on Lake Redman, a 290-acre impoundment on the East Branch Codorus Creek in York County. The ramp provides convenient mid-lake access and is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. **Gas motors are not permitted**, making this a peaceful setting for paddle sports and electric-motor boating. Night boating is available year-round.
**Access & Parking:** The park is located off Water Street in Jacobus Borough (take Water Street west from N. Main Street and look for the yellow gate marking the park access road). Lake Redman's boat launch accommodates trailers, though the nearby Sparton Road launch does not. Trailer parking is limited, so arrive early on weekends. The launch places paddlers at approximately the midpoint of the lake, offering good access to explore the water.
The 1,637-acre park also includes Lake Williams and offers picnic areas and shore fishing. Both lakes are managed by York County and operate under a lease agreement with The York Water Company, ensuring well-maintained facilities year-round.
