About This Access Site
Willow Creek provides public boat access to Lake Elwell (Tiber Reservoir), a 21,300-acre impoundment on the Marias River in north-central Montana. The site features a gravel boat ramp that is best used during periods of higher water levels; launching trailered boats can be difficult when water levels drop in summer months. Car-topper boats, canoes, and kayaks are well-suited to this access point. Note that current Certified Boater decals are required to launch at Willow Creek.

The reservoir offers excellent recreational opportunities across its 181 miles of shoreline, with northern pike, walleye, and rainbow trout being the primary game fish. Primitive camping is available nearby for small RVs and tents (bring your own water and firewood). The area also features scenic attractions including windblown sandstone formations, historic teepee rings, and the impressive three-mile-long Tiber Dam. For those interested in paddling below the dam, the Marias River below Tiber Dam is noted as a unique birdwatching area.
