About This Access Site
**Location & Access**
Willow Flowage - Access Site 1 is located near Hazelhurst in Oneida County, off Willow Dam Road north of the intersection with Willow Road. This is one of seven DNR-managed public boat landings providing access to the Willow Flowage reservoir system on the Tomahawk River.

**Water Conditions & Character**
The Willow Flowage is a large 6,392-acre reservoir with a maximum depth of 30 feet, featuring 73 miles of shoreline, 106 islands, and a scenic, largely undeveloped landscape (95% undeveloped). The flowage offers excellent paddling and boating opportunities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboat users. Be aware that water levels fluctuate seasonally—the reservoir typically experiences significant drawdowns in fall and winter, which can expose sandbars along the shoreline but may also affect launch conditions.

**Nearby Amenities**
The Willow Flowage Scenic Waters Area includes 37 rustic campsites scattered along the shoreline and islands, making it suitable for multi-day paddling trips. Additional access points and services are available at other landings around the flowage, including Sportsmans Landing approximately two miles away.
