About This Access Site
Willow Point provides seasonal access to Howard Prairie Lake, a 806-acre reservoir in the Cascade Range near Pinehurst. The ramp is open May 16 through October 27 (dates may vary annually), making it a reliable launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats during the recreation season. The lake sits at 4,550 feet elevation and offers scenic mountain views with generally calm water conditions suitable for paddling and fishing.

Located about 40 miles southeast of Medford and 21 miles east of Ashland, access is via Highway 66 and Dead Indian Memorial Road to Hyatt Prairie Road. The site includes day-use facilities, and nearby Beaver Dam Group Campground (reservable up to 9 months in advance) provides overnight camping options. For current conditions, check the Bureau of Reclamation's lake level updates and ODFW fishing reports before your trip. Contact Jackson County Parks at (541) 774-8183 for specific hours, seasonal updates, or additional facility details.
