Wise County Park offers a well-developed public access point on Lake Bridgeport's east side at the dam, suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and all boat types. The ramp features piers for easier launching and loading, with convenient amenities including public restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and swimming areas. The facility is located west of FM 1658, approximately 5 miles west of Bridgeport—follow the road's sharp bend south, cross the dam, then turn into the first drive on the west side of the road.
**Important considerations**: The ramp may become inaccessible during periods of low water, so water levels should be checked before visiting. Lake Bridgeport has zebra mussels present, so all boats, livewells, and bait buckets must be completely drained of water before leaving the area to prevent spreading invasive species. The park is operated by Wise County and also offers camping (24 RV sites with varying utility hookups) and tent camping options, making it convenient for extended visits.
