About This Access Site
The Silver Lake Day Use Area offers a convenient public boat ramp for paddlers and boaters accessing Silver Lake and the Withlacoochee River in Hernando County. The facility features a ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger motorboats, with 4 trailer parking spots available on a gravel/dirt surface in good condition. The day use area is open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and includes restrooms, a picnic area, and a large pavilion near the northwest shore of the lake.

Located at 31475 Silver Lake Road in Brooksville (about 5 miles from I-75), this is a popular access point for exploring both Silver Lake and the Withlacoochee River system. In addition to water access, the site connects to the Withlacoochee State Trail for hiking. Paddlers should note that parking is limited and gravel-based, so plan accordingly during peak use times. The facility serves as a good launching point for both day trips and longer paddling adventures on the river and lake system.
