**Location & Facilities**
Woodland Beach is a public boat ramp access point located on Woodland Beach Road in Smyrna, Delaware, managed by DNREC Fish & Wildlife. The site features a small boat ramp on the creek side and a small craft ramp on the bayside, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. Parking is limited to a handful of unmarked trailer spaces. A fishing pier and riprap-lined bank are also available at the site.
**Water Conditions**
Duck Creek is a medium-sized river (Stream Order 4) with a 38.6-mile length and substantial elevation drop that creates an average gradient of 14.7 feet per mile. With an average flow of 14 cubic feet per second and velocity of 1.5 feet per second, paddlers can expect moderate current conditions. The creek's 153-square-mile drainage area supports year-round water flow, though conditions may vary seasonally.

This access point provides paddlers with proximity to two major protected areas: the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve's 6,000+ acres of freshwater wetlands and tidal marshes, and Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, which protects one of the mid-Atlantic's largest remaining tidal salt marshes. These areas offer excellent paddling opportunities for wildlife viewing and scenic exploration.
