Located along SR 302 in Gig Harbor, Wuana/Purdy Spit offers convenient beach access to Henderson Bay for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. This 7.5-acre unimproved waterfront area features a boat launch with parking just steps away from the water. The access point is ideal for paddlers launching onto Henderson Bay, with easy gravel beach access that requires minimal preparation. Note that this site is primarily designed for hand-launched vessels like kayaks and paddleboards rather than large motorized boats.

The Purdy Spit divides Burley Lagoon and is known for excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, including waterfowl such as sea gulls, blue herons, and occasional seals. The beach extending from the boat ramp eastward provides a scenic paddle launch point. Before heading out, paddlers should be prepared for the marine environment typical of Puget Sound waters and check local conditions.
