Wyalusing State Park

Wyalusing State Park offers a well-established boat ramp for launching trailered boats into the Mississippi River's Pool 10 section near Prairie du Chien. The site features an accessible fishing pier and permits motorboats. The park is situated in a scenic area of bluffs and the Upper Mississippi River Valley, providing good access to the river's backwaters and wildlife refuge areas. Rental boats are available from nearby businesses in the Prairie du Chien and Bagley areas if you don't have your own vessel.

The Mississippi River at this location is a major waterway with substantial flow (averaging 685,000+ cubic feet per second) and moderate velocity around 11 feet per second. Paddlers should be aware of the river's power and current. The park offers a scenic 6-mile canoe trail that takes advantage of the current through the backwaters of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, making it a popular route for kayakers and canoeists.
