About This Access Site
Yegua Creek Park provides access to Somerville Lake, a reservoir on the Brazos River system in Washington County near Somerville, Texas. The facility features two boat ramps capable of handling all boat types, plus a courtesy dock, parking area, and ADA-accessible restroom. A $2 launching fee applies, and the ramps are open year-round. The park is primarily reserved for registered campers, so plan accordingly if you intend to use the facilities.

**Access & Directions:** From Somerville, travel 4 miles south on Texas 36 to FM 1948, then turn right and continue approximately 2 miles to the park entrance. From Austin, take US 290 east toward Brenham, follow HWY 36 north 11.5 miles to FM 1948. From Houston, take HWY 290 west to Brenham, then proceed north on HWY 36.

Yegua Creek Campground has 82 sites, 65 of which have 50-amp electrical and water hookups. Flush toilets and showers are provided, as are picnic tables and fire rings. Two boat ramps, an interpretive trail, and dump station are located on-site.

The campground is situated on the shoreline of scenic Somerville Lake. Pelicans and other waterfowl frequent the shoreline.
