Yellow Birch Lake is a 192-acre lake in the Eagle River Chain of Lakes system, accessible via a public boat landing with a paved ramp in Eagle River, Vilas County. The lake has a maximum depth of 23 feet and offers good fishing opportunities for musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish. Note that water clarity is low, which is typical for northern Wisconsin lakes. The ramp's convenient location near the town of Eagle River makes it ideal for boaters wanting access to the chain of lakes while staying close to amenities and local events.
Kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators will find this an accessible launch point for exploring Yellow Birch Lake and potentially connecting to other lakes in the chain. The area supports a range of water activities year-round. Two nearby campgrounds—Anvil Lake Campground and Laurel Lake Campground—offer reservable camping options within 10 miles if you're planning an extended visit. Contact the Eagle River Chain Lakes Association or local DNR office for current conditions, facility details, and any specific access information.
