About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities:** This boat ramp is located at the south end of Yellowwood Lake in Belmont, Brown County, near Bloomington and Indiana University. The south-end access features a concrete boat ramp with parking lot, making it the primary launch point for paddlers and boaters. An alternative access point with a gravel parking lot and small jetty is available at the north end of the lake.

**Boating Restrictions & Character:** Yellowwood Lake is a small reservoir, so no transport is required to access it. **All motorized boats are restricted to electric trolling motors only**, making this an excellent destination for kayakers, canoeists, and anglers seeking a quieter paddling experience. The lake is part of Yellowwood State Forest, which offers additional outdoor recreation opportunities including two other lakes (Bear Lake and Crooked Creek Lake) with their own boat ramps, plus primitive camping and hiking trails.

**Accessibility Note:** Access to the water is primarily for those comfortable with outdoor recreation; the area is best suited for visitors arriving with boats or paddling equipment rather than shore-based activities.
