Description
The Grizzly Creek Section of Glenwood Canyon is the perfect family float through gorgeous scenery with great opportunities for wildlife sightings. This is one of the best floats in the state and has lots of great places to swim in the heat of the summer. The river is very friendly and mellow at low flows, but at higher water (above 5,000 CFS) things can become a bit pushier for rafts so be prepared. This is also a heavily commercially rafted section during the summertime, so also expect large commercial groups too. Most of the Whitewater is class II/III and very straightforward and easy to navigate. There is also a natural hot spring towards the end of the Canyon on river left that makes for a pleasant stop and soak towards the end of your trip. From I-70, the put-in is at the Grizzly Creek exit and there is an obvious and easy boat ramp. Take out at Two Rivers Park just below the confluence of the Roaring Fork.
