Description
The Upper New Haven is a great addition to the standard Ledges run. If the water is medium or above for the Ledges, then the levels for the Upper should be ok. There are 4 main rapids on the Upper, with plenty of small stuff in between to keep you amused. The first rapid, a continous set of ledges, which then drops through a narrow slot, is undercut on both sides, and should be inspected carefully. The third rapid, "The Waterfall", is the most fun drop of the section. Directions Continue on up past the Ledges section of the New Haven. Go through Lincoln, and take a right just after you cross the river for the second time. The takeout is where the road meets the river just below the last rapid. Continue up the road, crossing the river once. Bear left, and put in above the first main rapid. _Latitude/longitude coordinates are a very rough approximation._
