Description
Virginia Whitewater, Roger Corbett The Pound is a Virginia Scenic River from the put in at the Old Mill Village Launch Area in Pound, Va to its confluence with the Russell Fork just upstream from the Breaks Interstate Park gorge. For the first 8 miles, River right is owned by The Nature Conservancy. River left is National Forest for about 4 miles with no roads or houses until the take out near the Edgar Mullins Bridge. It's class I and II, great for beginning paddlers with lots of great fishing!
