Description

Starting in Copenhagen with the ledges in town continue for a mile to the High Falls Dam. Portage on river left.  The run continues to High Falls Dam, at least the dam itself will have to be portaged. The run continues down to another falls just above the Route 26 Bridge. Take out at the Railroad bridge on river left. Shuttle Info

From Copenhagen drive east/north/ downstream on Deer River Road/ Route 55. Be sure to scout High Falls which is down the first dirt road on the right. Scout Kings Falls by turning right onto Vorce Road, Left onto Roberts, then left again in a few yards onto another dirt road. Continuing on Roberts will take you to 26, take a left and then stop and scout at the bridge Take a right just after the bridge onto a dirt road. This winds about and will come to railroad tracks just before a railroad bridge. Park here if you can. If you can't make it to the railroad takeout continue on 26N to Bridge Street in Carthage. Take a right and cross the Black River. Take a right on 126 and back track until you see the Black River on your right. Park here.  When Deer Creek reaches the Black simply paddle down to your car.
