Description
On February 11th 2022, with the Stabler gauge at 5.3' we kayaked from Beaver Campground to Stabler bridge.  This stretch was beautiful, and featured 2 distinct mini gorges, both of which were class 2+, the first one having a blind bend in the river. There was lots and lots of BIG trees in the water, that I'd assume move around frequently, and is added to often. We cut a fair few bends short to miss coming close to wood, but there was no portages at this date. It would be useful to have a class 3/4 kayaker with your group to boat scout, as more than a few logjams looked not passable from a distance. We saw a few birds of prey and had a herd of elk cross the river right in front of us.
