Description
One of the more challenging and isolated stretches on the North Fork of Cadron Creek. The run is bordered by high bluffs and wooded hillsides, and winds its way through deep pools and Class I-II+ whitewater, including the notorious "Rock of Gibraltar". (Hint: go river right at flows less than 4.0 ft). Expect high standing waves (4+ feet) at higher levels that are very capable of swamping open boats. There is excellent access (thanks to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission) at both put-in and take-out. Use Solomon Grove Road (north of the creek) for the shortest paved shuttle.
