Description
The putin is at the hwy 49 bridge on the Spartanburg County side of
of the river. The only whitewater on the section is the first .50 miles
or so after the putin. It is basically a long shoals with numerous
drops. After the first .50 it is all flatwater to Hwy.56. It is a nice flatwater paddle. The hill area on the Spartanburg side of the river was one of the nicest hardwood forests in the area until it was clearcut 8 -10 years ago. It is starting to grow backbut that will take years. This is a good comb-whitewater/flatwater cruise section.
