The river in this half-mile downtown has been artificially constricted between rock-rubble and stone walled banks. A number of shoals and riffles exist which _may_ provide minor swiftwater entertainment (there are no significant 'features'). High flows will mean a faster flush, but the river will still be more _swiftwater_ than actual whitewater.
The whole reach is a highly visible location, being in the downtown area, with a wonderful riverwalk paralleling the whole reach. We are not sure what regulations there may be regarding access on this portion of stream, so it is entirely possible that your presence may be questioned. (I do have second-hand awareness of local boaters having used this spot for handy in-town paddling for decades, with little-or-no reported incidents or arrests.)
Put-in (for any who do bother with this reach) is advised below the short cement dam at Barstow Street, and take-out is advised before Wisconsin Avenue.
This may be paired with (or either may be 'substituted for' the other) the listed run on the
Pewaukee River, which has it's take-out on the Fox River, about 2.25 miles upstream of this reach.
