Description
This is an easy-going meander through the four Sand Creek campgrounds, South of Beulah WY. It offers many small waterfalls and a couple S curve rapids that are the perfect training grounds for first timers. Catch it during a rainy spring for a brown roller coaster ride or share the clear summer waters with the many tubers, pushing off the banks with sticks to keep from becoming one with the poison ivy.
Take the gravel Sand Creek Rd 1.5 miles south from the Beulah overpass. Drop a shuttle rig at the 3rd cattle guard. Below you will see a barb wire fence crossing the creek which marks the take out of the standard campground run. Continue on and park at the fourth campground approach on the right, immediately before crossing the 4th cattle guard. Hike 20 yrds south, alongside the road you came in on and enjoy a grassy seal launch into the creek.
