Description
Data provided by Isaac Seigle While Temple stream does not have a gauge, I have found it useful to use Gauge: USGS 01047200 Sandy River near Madrid, Maine to determine when this stream is runnable. This strem becomes paddleable when madrid gauge reaches over 250, but perferably a minimum flow of 300 CFS. Temple Stream is paddleable up to when madrid gauge reaches 800 cfs, beyond this point you are entering flood stage. Safety eddies wash out, with high chances of trees falling off the shallow loose riverbanks creating dangerous strainers that  have the ability to cross the entire stream due to how narrow it is. However  if opportunity arises to scout the river durring large rain events, water depths seem opportune to allow the use of inflatables such as a slice, mini max, or other small rafts to creek this run at flows over 800. Muliple put in and take out points are avaliable to boaters, split between bridge crossings and private land owner premissions. As time allows I hope to document this sreams features in hopes of it becoming a more accessable whitewater location for those in the farmington area, particularly sudents at the University of Maine Farmington.
