Description
March 11 2011 'paboater2011' Provided: Mill Creek is a great run for beginner boaters as well as for those who like surfing. There are plenty of surf waves and holes all the way down the run. At higher levels (3 or 4 feet) some excellent surf and playboating spots pop up, offering plenty of sizable standing waves and fun surf spots. There are no real hazards other than the potential for an occasional downed tree. However, it is a pretty wide creek so this is not really too much of an issue. The put in is at the at the bridge on Fisher Road where Clarion Township and Millcreek Township meet. On the upstream side of the bridge there is a gauge on river left. It is marked with black spray paint so you have to look closely. The takeout is where Mill Creek empties into the Clarion. There is another small bridge here at the end. I would recommend that you get out here rather than the boat launch.
