Description
Patterson Creek drains the eastern side of the Salmon Mountains as it drops from the north side of Whiskey Butte to the floor of the Scott Valley. This microcreek is rarely run and has seen little boating activity since it was first explored by kayakers in the early/mid 00s. The road to the put-in is gated and closed, significantly complicating access to this run. Perhaps the best visual of the run is in Darin McQuoid's video: http://vimeo.com/77816. The only guidebook for this run is Dan Menten's 2016 classic, _The New School Guide to Northern California Whitewater_ (p. 60).
