Gradient numbers are for the 4.6 miles of the run above Chicken Coop Gap.
From akimbal on boatertalk:
I am sure it has been run plenty, just not very often and not by big groups. The walk in is about 1.5 miles, easy downhill hike along and old roadbed. It took us about 35-40 minutes, and we didn't hurry. I would consider the level to have been medium low. At this level, the first drop is IMHO a 4, but with more water I can definitely see it in the 5 realm. From the reports of the others that did the Chicken Coop put-in, I would definitely recommend the Hickory Creek put-in. Makes a long day, but the whitewater and the easier, albeit longer, hike in makes it worthwhile.

That first drop is called cherynoble And I'd call it a class 5. Of course, the only time I've run that section, there was lots of water. When we passed the elbow at the end of the day, the water was 4" over the top of it.
It is, indeed, a very cool run. Long hike, though.
