Description
Hillman wrote, in the Northeast Paddlers' Message Board: "I know everyone is hitting everything that's opening up, but the oswego river is flowing at 19,800 cfs right now. Check it out on the american whitewater website. The section of rapids is only about a half mile long or so, starting right below(or above) the dam at lock 7. If you like to park and play, there are at least 50 surfable waves right now. There is a pedestrian walkway lining the river on both sides, so you can walk back up on either side, (the east side behind the hotel at the drift boat takeout at lock 8 is better), allowing for multiple runs. There are two main bridges, and a train bridge creating huge waves, and just putting in at the dam is really neat." Dancio has taken some photos of the area. Click here for a look. Lat/longitude coords are very approximate, to get us into the area for further cartographic tweakage.
