Description
This section of river has a number of class 1 ripples. The old Childsdale dam site may be considered class 2 at certain levels. This is also a popular fishing river. There are a number of access sites along this route to change-up the trip length.
The put-in described here is in the town of Rockford. There is a park along the east side of the river, just south of 10 mile Road, and can be used to access the river. There is parking for the trail just north of 10 Mile Road. To get to the parking, go north from 10 Mile Road on Main Street, then one of the driveways on the left. Go west thru the business parking lots to the sidewalk along the river. Unload and carry gear south on the sidewalk, under the 10 mile Road bridge, to the park. Use the grassy bank to put-in. There are bathrooms in the park that are available during the summer season.
The take-out is on river-left, on the downstream side the Rogue River Road bridge.
