Description
Ed Evangelidi testifies: Note that in wintertime the lake freezes over and may present you with a long stretch of ice too thick to portage on and too thin to easily punch through. Also, the dam and portage site may not be easily identifiable in foggy conditions. In that scenario it would be best to keep to the right and walk/scout around from time to time so that you find the takeout without getting too near the edge of the spillway.
