Description
From Tony Robinson on Boatertalk: 'As for Woodcock, I get mixed reviews. I've not run it but Andy Bridge told me it is the best creek on the plateau. others have told me it is sieve city, so it may be both. I do know an acquaintance of mine broke his back trying to run the waterfall on the upper part of the run and in trying to evacuate him, they discovered the logging road which now serves as the standard putin (at the base of the falls).' Andy Mitchell: I have paddled this creek at low water and at a med. level. It is one of the best runs on the plateau. It has some great drops as well as some scary sieves--a long run, so have plenty of time on hand. The first drop is about 12 ft and Stuart C. broke his back on the river-right side. While the entire run is steep and technical, the major sec. is towards the end of the gorge the times I was in there all drops but 3 were run successfully. Some of the names of the rapids are t-12 the waterfall where Stuart broke his 12th vertebra, the Floodgate, and Whopper Down The Hatch. Got some great photos of mentioned drops plus other unnamed drops...just drop a line and I will send them to you.
