About This Access Site
The Lake View boat ramp provides access to Amistad Reservoir, an expansive international water body straddling the Texas-Mexico border near Del Rio. Located at the east end of the reservoir near the US-277 bridge, this National Park Service-maintained ramp is open year-round when conditions permit. The site features a concrete launching area, though access can be challenging during low water periods with steep walks down to the ramp. Boaters should note that any motorized vessel requires a day pass ($4) or 3-day pass ($10).

The Amistad Visitor Center is located about 6 miles west on Highway 90 and provides park information, passes, and educational resources (credit/debit card only). For paddlers and boaters planning an extended visit, several campgrounds operate nearby, including Governors Landing, Rough Canyon, and Spur 406. The reservoir is situated in a desert oasis setting approximately 10-15 minutes from Del Rio, making it accessible yet remote. Contact the Amistad National Recreation Area at (830) 775-7491 for current conditions, water levels, and facility status before your visit.
