**Location & Access:**
Avents Ferry Bridge Boat Ramp is a free North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) facility located on Cape Fear River in Chatham County, near Moncure. The ramp is accessed via NC Highway 42 (Avents Ferry Road), approximately 1.2 miles south of Corinth Road. This is a convenient put-in for paddlers and motorboaters exploring the Piedmont section of the Cape Fear River.

**River Conditions:**
The Cape Fear River at this location is a major waterway (Stream Order 8) with an average flow of 10,667 cubic feet per second and moderate current of approximately 3.1 feet per second. The gradient averages 0.8 feet per mile, providing manageable paddling conditions for most skill levels. The ramp provides good access for canoeists, kayakers, and power boaters interested in exploring the 194-mile stretch of river remaining to the mouth near Wilmington.

This access point offers excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for catfish, and serves as a launch point for both upstream and downstream paddling. B.
