About This Access Site
Located in Danforth, Maine (20 miles north of Topsfield), this primitive boat ramp provides access to Baskahegan Stream and connects to the wider Baskahegan Lake system. To reach the landing, take ME-169 west from US-1 for 0.5 miles, then turn left on Horseback Road—the boat launch is immediately on the left. This is a basic, no-frills access point suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats.

The Baskahegan Stream area is popular for multi-day paddling trips and fishing, with the broader lake system offering approximately 40 miles of shoreline for exploration. Paddlers should be aware this is primitive access with limited facilities. The site serves as a common take-out point for canoe trips originating further upstream in Brookton. The area is home to various fish species including chain pickerel, making it attractive to anglers as well as recreational paddlers.
