The Blakeley Mountain Dam Tailwaters on the Ouachita River provide a popular boat ramp and access point for kayakers, canoeists, and other small boaters. Located just below the Blakeley Mountain Dam, this site offers direct access to the headwaters of the Ouachita River.

The Ouachita River is a major waterway, stretching over 548 miles with an elevation drop of 1,651 feet from its source to its mouth. At this access point, the river is a large, 8th order stream with an average flow of 27,694 cubic feet per second and an average velocity of 4.63 feet per second. The river's gradient averages 3 feet per mile, providing a mix of calm and swift water conditions for paddlers and boaters.
