Broken Bow Lake's boat ramps provide access to this scenic southeastern Oklahoma reservoir on the Mountain Fork River in McCurtain County. Several public ramps are located along the west side of the lake, with additional access points near the re-regulation dam both upstream and downstream. Most ramps offer basic amenities including boat parking and a few picnic tables. This is a popular destination for kayakers and canoeists exploring the lake's calmer waters, as well as larger motorboats.
The McCurtain County Wilderness Area at the lake's north end preserves primitive natural beauty and offers excellent paddling opportunities for those seeking a more remote experience. Water conditions and ramp availability can vary seasonally, so it's worth confirming current conditions before your visit, particularly after weather events or dam operations. The lake provides a good base for exploring both the reservoir itself and the Mountain Fork River system beyond the dam.
