Clarks Mills Pond is a 38-acre impoundment on the Manitowoc River in Reedsville, offering convenient public access for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. The pond has a maximum depth of 6 feet and supports populations of panfish, largemouth bass, and northern pike, making it suitable for both paddling and fishing. This shallow, calm water body is ideal for beginners and recreational paddlers looking for a protected paddling environment.
The site features two distinct launch options separated by the dam. For trips starting on Clarks Mills Pond itself, use the downstream launch area below the dam. If you're taking out, use the main boat ramp located above the dam. The site also serves as a portage point for paddlers navigating the Manitowoc River—those continuing downstream can take out on the left just downstream from the County Road J bridge, portage around the dam, and re-launch at the convenient spot below. This configuration makes Clarks Mills Pond a practical hub for both pond paddling and river travel.
