The Columbus boat ramp on the Flatrock River offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats in the heart of Columbus, Bartholomew County. This developed access point features ample parking for 68+ vehicles, porta-potties, and a picnic area, making it a comfortable base for a full day on the water. The site is located near downtown Columbus; note that Google Maps directions to "1 River Road" may direct you to the Mill Creek Road intersection—the actual park entrance is 0.1 mile southeast of that location. Turn east at the traffic light near Columbus Silgas on 550N to reach the main access point.
**Important Requirements:** All visitors must possess a valid day-use pass to use the boat ramp (unless camping), and a launch permit is required. The gentle flow and peaceful atmosphere of the Flatrock River make this an ideal spot for recreational paddling and fishing. The area also offers alternative shallow-water access near the Mill Creek Road bridge for wading or lighter watercraft.
