Fisherman's Park in downtown Bastrop provides convenient access to the Colorado River for kayakers, canoeists, and non-motorized boaters. Located at the end of Farm Street near downtown, the site features a boat ramp on the downstream left side. Access is open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset for fishing and launching non-motorized watercraft. The Colorado River in this section is a major waterway with an average flow of approximately 2,220 cubic feet per second and moderate current velocity of 7.75 feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for a river with consistent flow and be aware of changing water conditions, particularly after heavy rain. Note that pets, campfires, firearms, and alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the park, and the site is closed to motorized boats.
