About This Access Site
Forest Glen Landing provides public access to the McKenzie River in Lane County, located east of Springfield on Highway 126 between Hendricks Bridge and Finn Rock. The site offers a concrete boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats, with paved parking available. This is one of 32 boat launches along the McKenzie River and serves as a convenient put-in or take-out point for paddlers exploring this popular river stretch. There are no fees for access or day-use.

The McKenzie River in this area offers diverse paddling opportunities, from Class II to Class III+ whitewater depending on water flow conditions (typically 600-6,000 cfs). The river is well-regarded for trout fishing and scenic beauty, with flows monitored at the USGS gauge downstream at Vida. Several campgrounds are located within 10 miles of the landing, including Sunnyside, French Pete, and Horse Creek Group Campgrounds (all reservable), making it convenient for multi-day trips or camping visits.
