About This Access Site
George's Island County Park offers a well-maintained hard surface boat ramp providing direct access to the Hudson River in Montrose, Westchester County. The ramp was rebuilt in 1999 and accommodates 50 vehicles and trailers. Located conveniently under the George Washington Bridge, the site is accessed via Hudson Terrace and Henry Hudson Drive. This 208-acre waterfront park offers more than just boat access—it features tidal wetlands, wooded trails, and freshwater ponds suitable for nature study.

Paddlers and boaters should be prepared for tidal river conditions typical of the Hudson River in this region. The park's location on the river makes it an excellent starting point for kayaking and canoeing explorations. Winter visitors often use the site for eagle viewing along the scenic Hudson River.
