The Merom boat ramp provides access to the Wabash River at the southern end of this 9,098-acre Indiana DNR Fish & Wildlife Area in Sullivan County. The ramp accommodates canoes, kayaks, and motorized boats for exploring this section of the Wabash. All paddlers must wear a wearable personal flotation device (PFD) while on the water—this is a mandatory requirement, not optional.
In addition to the main river ramp, the property offers primitive boat ramps at three pond locations accessed off Darwin Road, 6th Street, and South Lake Road if you prefer calmer water for paddling. The area is primarily managed for wildlife viewing and hunting, with visitors enjoying the surrounding prairie and marsh habitat. Contact Indiana DNR's Division of Fish & Wildlife for specific information about current water conditions, seasonal access restrictions, or any facilities available at the ramp site.
