**Location & Access:** Greycliff is located 23 miles west of Bozeman on Montana Highway 84, then 6 miles north on Madison River Road in Gallatin County. The site features two boat ramps: an upper ramp adjacent to a campground and a lower ramp at the north end of the property, providing flexibility for different water levels and launch preferences.
**Facilities & Recreation:** This is a well-developed access point with established amenities including fire pits, toilets, and water. It serves as a primary launch point for floaters heading downstream; note that the next access point at Cobblestone lacks a boat ramp, making the float to Blackbird (near Three Forks via I-90) approximately 17 miles. During high water, pay attention to channel variations around a large island above Greycliff to ensure you don't miss takeout points. The site provides excellent access to the Madison River's productive fishing waters and serves as a gateway to the nearby Lee Metcalf Wilderness — Bear Trap unit managed by the BLM.
**Planning Note:** Be aware that new public access acquisitions below Greycliff (established after January 1, 2021) are designated as carry-in only, with no boat ramps developed. Plan your itinerary accordingly if you're paddling this section.
