Mapleton Landing is a county park boat ramp providing convenient access to the Siuslaw River, a major recreational waterway in the Oregon Coast Range. Located in Mapleton off Highway 126 on Steelhead Drive (watch for signage near Maple Lane RV Park), the facility features a paved ramp approximately 20 feet wide—suitable for small to medium-sized kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The site includes restrooms and is open year-round, making it accessible for various seasons of paddling and fishing.
The Siuslaw River offers diverse paddling opportunities from this access point. Boaters can explore both upstream and downstream sections, with conditions generally suitable for recreational paddling. The area is also convenient to nearby amenities, including North Fork Siuslaw Campground and Archie Knowles Campground within 10 miles, making it a good basecamp for multi-day trips. Note that the Siuslaw River SRMA is working toward adding recreation.gov electronic payment options, so check current conditions and fee information before visiting.
