About This Access Site
The Mexico boat ramp on Riverside Avenue provides public access to the Androscoggin River in Oxford County. This launch features a concrete ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The facility includes parking and a recently improved launch area with concrete planking, making it relatively straightforward for launching compared to some other regional access points.

Paddlers using this access should be aware of conditions downstream, particularly near the Pejepscot Dam. When returning to this take-out, stay to the right side of the river as you approach the dam and paddle through the slot in the barrier on the far right to access the haul-out area. The Androscoggin River in this section can be influenced by dam releases upstream, so water levels may vary. This is a good starting point for exploring the river above the dam or for short day trips in the area.
