The Millville access site is located below the Millville Dam on the Shenandoah River in Jefferson County, WV, offering both concrete ramp and hand-launch options for paddlers and boaters. The facility includes a concrete boat ramp with paved parking lot, as well as a dirt ramp to the right of the sign for easier hand launching of canoes, kayaks, and shallow-draft boats. This remote access point is maintained by the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources and serves as a key put-in for exploring the lower Shenandoah River section.
Paddlers should note that this is an isolated access location positioned between Little Falls and other notable features downstream. The area offers access to moving water with some rapids (Class II, potentially Class III at higher water levels) within approximately a mile, followed by pools above subsequent drops. The Huckleberry Hill Hiker-Biker Campsite is available within 10 miles for those planning overnight trips.
The site's proximity to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and Antietam National Battlefield makes it an excellent base for combining paddling with historical exploration of this significant Civil War region.
