About This Access Site
The Montezuma access site is located south of U.S. 36 on the east side of the Wabash River in Clinton, Parke County. This is a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters, offering easy access to the water without requiring a long carry from your vehicle to the launch area. The site is well-suited for both day trips and longer paddling expeditions.

Once launched, paddlers will pass under a historic iron railroad bridge as they venture onto the Wabash River. The Wabash is a substantial river flowing from Ohio through Indiana toward the Indiana/Illinois border, where it eventually joins the Ohio River. The river offers good opportunities for floating, fishing, and recreational paddling, with additional public access points available upstream and downstream for planning multi-day trips or shuttle runs.
